Shades of the tongue

Love knows no language barrier, it seems.

Neimo Askar

You whispered hello in many languages,

In hopes that it will bring sanity,

Charming and captivating me.

Too late, I was already

Swooned and lost,

And fell too deep.

I was a feather,

Floating on your majestic metaphors.

As they glided along with irony and similes,

And gentle smiles and whispers of

“My Love”

Each hitting a chord,

Each grasping my air, and

Squeezing my lungs.

You whispered once again,

I was a goner then.
