“This Room”

Tell me, how long have we

been in this room?

Here, where you

leaned in bit by bit, resisted back bit by bit until at that split

second a beat thumped to that brewing chemistry,

only to give in a little too late.

Floating around cloud nine for the longest time,

you were too cosy, to loved to see

that it was all just a cruel game to liven things up.

Here you defied your rules to satisfy

Leonine temptations. Now all the flames have died out, and now you’re burnt

and now you’re bored.

And now we’re still in the same room.

I see you holding on tightly,

embarrassingly. We all thought the same thing.
